Tazanna S. Jones is a recent graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Journalism. Tazanna had a head start in college, having earned her associate’s degree while in high school. Tazanna’s interest in the legal field started early and only grew stronger through hands-on experience, internships, and opportunities to work directly with clients.
During her time at UNC, Tazanna was a member of Honors Carolina and a recipient of the Blue Sky Scholarship. She served as an ambassador for the Honors Carolina Student Association throughout her time at UNC and as Co-Chair of the Carolina Indian Circle Culture Committee. These experiences helped her develop strong leadership, communication, and community-building skills.
Before joining Southpoint Estate Planning, Tazanna gained valuable experience interning with two law firms in Western North Carolina, where she worked directly with clients, drafting and managing day-to-day assistant procedures. Those experiences confirmed what she already suspected: she loves the fast-paced, people-centered nature of legal work.
Outside of work, Tazanna enjoys spending time with her dog, Ruger, her boyfriend, Jamison, and her friends. She can usually be found with her nose in a good book, attempting to stay consistent at the gym, or watching true crime documentaries that somehow turn into an all-night binge. She loves learning new things, meeting new people, and finding creative ways to solve problems.
Looking ahead, Tazanna plans to attend law school and pursue a career as an attorney. She is especially passionate about giving back to her Native community and using her education and experience to help others. Until then, she is excited to continue growing professionally, building meaningful connections, and being a legal assistant at Southpoint Estate Planning.
“When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed.”
