How to Make a Care Kit

Southpoint Estate Planning celebrated Veterans Day this year by making care kits for those with housing insecurity. Did you know that Veterans are 50% more likely to become homeless than other Americans?

Our family started an annual tradition of making care kits every year around Thanksgiving. It’s a good reminder of all we have to be thankful for. If you are interested in making your own care kits, here are some suggestions for what items to include:

  • Warm socks

  • Gloves

  • Chapstick

  • Hand sanitizer

  • Bath wipes

  • Protein bars or some non-perishable snack item

  • Bottled water

  • Travel toothpaste

  • Travel toothbrush

  • Miniature tissue packs

Use a gallon size ziplock bag and include one of each item above. I recommend keeping the bags in a location that’s easy to reach while you are driving.
